The tricone bits have type of Tungsten Carbide Insert (TCI ) and Mill Tooth (Steel Tooth) according to cutting materials.
They are versatile and can cut through many formations type.The mill tooth tricone drill bit is used for soft formations. The TCI rotary tricone bits is used for medium and hard formations. Soft rock formations include unconsolidated sands,clays,soft limestones,redbeds and shale. Medium hard formations include dolomites,limestones,and hard shale,while hard formations include hard shale,while hard formations include hard shale,mudstones,cherty limestones and hard and abrasive formations.
